A challenging expedition through the Land of Canyons. A two-day trekking traverse with one night of camping on the banks of the Pinturas River.
We follow ancient trails historically used by the region's settlers, crossing the deep Patagonian steppe with sweeping views of canyons, volcanic plateaus, and unique rock formations. Guanacos, condors, and occasionally pumas are frequently spotted along the way.
Itinerary
Pick-up in Perito Moreno
56 km on paved road along Route 40 to the Cañadón Pinturas Portal, Patagonia Park.
Trekking begins
Vehicle transfer to La Señalada. La Vertiente Trail (2 km) and Huella de Gradín (10 km). Panoramic views of the Pinturas River crossing the steppe and characteristic geological formations.
Camp at the Confluence
Setting up tents. Each person pitches their own camp. Sunset and mountain dinner with freeze-dried food.
Breakfast and break camp
Field breakfast. We break camp and pack our bags for the day ahead.
Huella de Gradín + Tierras Blancas + Cañadón Caracoles
3 km transition, then ascent through Tierras Blancas (1 km) toward Cañadón Caracoles (12 km). One of the most spectacular landscapes in Patagonia Park. Freeze-dried lunch during the hike.
Cueva de las Manos Portal
