A true journey into the past at one of Argentina's most important archaeological sites. The Cueva de las Manos, located in the Cañadón del Río Pinturas, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.

This excursion combines a guided visit to the archaeological site with the Tierra de Colores trail in Patagonia Park, offering a perfect blend of nature, history and wonder. Suitable for all ages.

Pick-up in Perito Moreno

Departure via Route 40 south

We travel 90 km of paved road to the junction with Provincial Route 101 and then Provincial Route 97, both gravel roads.

Cañadón Caracoles

We cross the majestic Cañadón Caracoles, with its imposing cliffs, until we reach the Cueva de las Manos Provincial Park.

Visit to Cueva de las Manos

Guided tour with site guides. Approximate duration: 1 hour 40 minutes. Afterwards, lunch at the Cóndor Viewpoint overlooking the Cañadón del Río Pinturas.

Tierra de Colores Trail — Patagonia Park

After checking in at the visitor centre, we walk the Tierra de Colores trail: 3.4 km of easy-moderate difficulty, approximately 1 hour.

Return to Perito Moreno
