The flagship experience of Safari Patagonia Argentina — and unique in the entire country. Four days of total immersion in Patagonia Park with guides specialized in puma tracking and behavior.
The puma is one of the most elusive big cats in the world. Finding one requires patience, knowledge of the territory and tracking techniques our guides have developed over years in this very region. We cannot guarantee a sighting, but we maximize every possibility.
Minimum age: 18 years (no exceptions). Moderate physical fitness required. Very limited spots.
About the experience
The detailed itinerary is designed according to park conditions, season and group. Every outing is different — that is the essence of tracking.
The 4 days include tracking outings at different times (dawn and dusk are the key moments), vehicle and on-foot traversals across sectors with the highest recorded activity, and waiting time at strategic viewpoints. Guides share their techniques and knowledge throughout the entire process.
Our commitment
As an agency we are committed to offering exclusive and intimate wildlife experiences that prioritize ensuring every visitor connects with nature in a respectful and unique way.
Important information
- ◆ There is no maximum age, but please note that participants walk 2 to 5 km per day on uneven terrain and must be in good health. Approximate elevation change during walks: 50 to 250 m (160 to 1,000 ft).
- ◆ While our minimum 4-day experiences offer higher chances of spotting pumas, a 100% sighting is not guaranteed.
- ◆ To ensure a safe and respectful field observation experience, we ask all participants to maintain a minimum distance of 60 metres from each big cat. Keeping this distance allows you to enjoy the sighting without disturbing the pumas and ensures the safety of both wildlife and people.
- ◆ When observing a puma with cubs, the minimum distance we allow is 100 metres, thereby avoiding stress to the animals and ensuring respectful coexistence between pumas and people.
